RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SETTLEMENT OF LAWSUITS
AND CLAIMS BY THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND RISK
MANAGEMENT OFFICE FOR AMOUNTS LESS THAN $25,000;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City is involved in various claims and lawsuits; and,
WHEREAS, many of these claims and lawsuits may be resolved for amounts
less than $25,000; and,
WHEREAS, the prompt resolution of these claims and lawsuits will serve the
best interests of the City and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The City Attorney's Office and the Risk Management Office shall be
authorized to settle lawsuits and claims for amounts less than $25,000, without further
action of the City Council.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
