Ordinance Rezoning Approximately 6.45 Acres Of Land Generally
South Of Lake Wellington Estates, North Of Kell Boulevard, And
West Of And Including Property Owned By Burlington Northern And
Santa Fe Railroad Co., From Multifamily Residential And Single
Family-2 To General Commercial, And Amending The Land Use Plan
To Change The Area From Low Density Residential To Commercial.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission considered the proposed
zoning change at their July 8, 2009 meeting and voted to recommend approval of this
request and the related amendment to the Land Use Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed this request and has determined that
the herein described Zoning and Land Use Plan amendments are in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The 5.28 acre tract of land out of 53.98 acres, Blocks 5, 8, 17, Denton CSL
LG 1 Abst. 58, zoned Multifamily Residential, and approximately 1.17 acres of land
owned by Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad Co., zoned Single Family-2, as
shown on the attached map incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A", are
hereby rezoned to General Commercial.
2. The Land Use Plan is hereby amended to reflect the aforementioned acreage
as commercial.
