Ord 57-2009 8/18/2009 ORDINANCE NO. �"�— �COc�G Ordinance Accepting $292,833.00 Of Grant Funds From The FY 2009 Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program From The Office Of Justice Programs Of The Department Of Justice, Appropriating Such Funds In The Special Revenue Fund, And Authorizing The Execution Of All Documents Necessary To Accept Such Funds And Share One-Half Of The Non-Administration Expenses With Wichita County WHEREAS, the City has been notified that it has been awarded a grant in the amount of $292,833.00 from the FY 2009 Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program; and WHEREAS, 10% of said award in the amount of $29,283.30 will be used for grant administration expenses for the Wichita Falls Police Department; and WHEREAS, one-half of said remaining award ($263,549.70) will be shared evenly with Wichita County, Texas, co-applicant for such grant; and WHEREAS, the use of these funds are planned to be used to assist in the purchase of two portable power point projectors, two portable projector screens, Axciton systems polygraph equipment, an evidence drying cabinet, finro digital audio/video recorders, a programmer software update, ten VHF Mobile Radios, a thermal imaging device, two Camera Lenses, and a SWAT Equipment Vehicle, and to assist in the payment of personnel expenses related to the administration of these JAG funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City of Wichita Falls hereby accepts $292,833.00 of funds from the 09 Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program and appropriates said funds to the Special Revenue Fund to account for the revenues and expenditures of the program to be expended as described herein. The City Administration is authorized to execute all documents, including, but not limited to an interlocal agreement, necessary to share '/2 of the non-administration expenses with Wichita County, in the amount of $131,774.85 per entity.
