Res 082-2003 7/15/2003RESOLUTION NO. �a ao o 3 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING LABORATORY TESTING FEES FOR TESTS PERFORMED ON WATER SAMPLES SUBMITTED TO THE WICHITA FALLS - WICHITA COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT LABORATORY; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the Health District Laboratory performs tests to determine the bacteriological quality of water samples submitted to said laboratory; and WHEREAS, the fees for said testing have remained the same and unchanged since October 1997: and WHEREAS, the current fees are no longer sufficient to cover the costs of providing this service; and WHEREAS, special testing is sometimes required where the costs are not covered by a set fee, and occasionally, overtime is required to perform testing and this cost is neither recovered nor addressed in the cost per test; and WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that the circumstances in this request are warranted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 . The fees charged by the Health Department Laboratory for tests on drinking water samples to determine bacteriological quality be increased as follows: Total Coliform test fees shall increase from $10.00 to $15.00 per sample; Fecal Coliform test fees shall increase from $15.00 to $20.00 per sample. A Special fee is established to cover testing that requires multiple cultures, re- culture, sub - culture, dilution, or other non - routine testing, or when the requirements of the sample exceed normal testing procedures. This Special fee is set at $25.00 per sample. Additionally, the laboratory may surcharge an additional $10.00 per sample for any sample submitted that requires technician overtime to process and /or report. These fees shall become effective October 1, 2003. SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 15th day of July, 2003.
