RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE AWARD OF LOW INCOME
HOUSING TAX CREDITS TO THE PROPOSED GREEN BRIAR
APARTMENT COMPLEX IN WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS AT AIRPORT
DRIVE AND BURKBURNETT ROAD, FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need for the provision of affordable
rental units inside the City of Wichita Falls, and
WHEREAS, the proposed Green Briar Village Apartments project is in
conformance with the City's Consolidated Plan, and
WHEREAS, this single application for Low Income Housing Tax Credits has
been submitted for a site within the City during the 2004 application round, and
WHEREAS, the City has authorized the award of Community Development Block
Grant funding for utility and site improvements at the proposed project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTION 1 . The City Council hereby urges the Texas Department of Housing
and Community Affairs to award Low Income Housing Tax Credits to the Green Briar
Village Apartments, a project within the City of Wichita Falls.
SECTIO 2, It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
