RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, CONFIRMING A POLICY OF OUTSOURCING POLICE
TRAINING OF NEW RECRUITS TO THE WICHITA FALLS POLICE
DEPARTMENT TO VERNON COLLEGE; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, as a part of the 2003 -2004 budget year, the Council supported the
outsourcing of police training for new recruits to Vernon College, and
WHEREAS, the City is currently under a contract with Vernon College for such
training; and
WHEREAS, the outsourcing of training provides benefits to the City, including
financial savings; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to continue the outsourcing of
police training for new recruits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTI 1. The City Council hereby establishes a policy of outsourcing police
training for new recruits to Vernon College, or other qualified institution or agency.
S ECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
