RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DEVELOP A
FINANCING PLAN TO PURCHASE A FIRE LADDER TRUCK AND
ENDORSING AN APPLICATION TO THE 4B BOARD OF DIRECTORS IF
NECESSARY; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, for several years, the City has been making efforts to set aside
funds for the purchase of a fire ladder truck to replace a 1969 model that has
exhausted its useful life, and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for this equipment is approximately $800,000,
which has made it difficult to budget entirely in one funding year or from one funding
source, and
WHEREAS, there are several City funding sources that could be used to develop
a complete financing plan for the purchase of the ladder truck; and
WHEREAS, the 413 Sales Tax Corporation is one of those possible funding
sources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to develop a financing plan
to complete the purchase of a fire ladder truck.
SECTION 2 . The City Council hereby endorses an application to the 4B Board
of Directors for a portion of the financing for this replacement item.
SECTION 3 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
