RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AS BEING
RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY IN
DEALING WITH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT
FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE TEXAS
RECREATION AND PARKS OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANTS
PROGRAM; CERTIFYING THAT THE APPLICANT MATCHING SHARE
IS READILY AVAILABLE AND DEDICATING THE PROPOSED SITE
FOR PERMANENT PUBLIC PARK AND RECREATIONAL USES;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW,
WHEREAS, The City of Wichita Falls (the "Applicant), Texas desires to apply for
a Texas Recreation and Parks Outdoor Grant (the 'Program ") on behalf of River Bend
Nature Works; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant is fully eligible to receive assistance under the
Program, and
WHEREAS, the Applicant is desirous of authorizing the City Manager to
represent and act for the Applicant in dealing with the Department concerning the
program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The Applicant hereby certifies that they are eligible to receive
assistance under the Program, and that notice of the application has been posted
according to local public hearing requirements.
SECTION 2 . The Applicant hereby certifies that the matching share for this
application is readily available at this time.
SECTION 3 . The Applicant hereby authorizes and directs its City Manager to act
for the Applicant in dealing with the Department for the purposes of the Program, and
that James Berzina is hereby designated as the representative in this regard.
SECTION 4 . The Applicant specifically authorizes the official to make application
to the Department concerning the site to be known as "Hill Stabilization Project" in the
City of Wichita Falls of Wichita County for use as a park site and is hereby dedicated
for public park and recreation purposes in perpetuity.
SECTION 5 . The Applicant hereby certifies that a copy of the application has
been submitted to the appropriate regional council of governments for Texas Review
and Comments System consideration.
SECTION 6 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
