RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR,
ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE THE GRANT AND WILL
ACT AS THE AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL FOR THE FIFTEENTH YEAR
FUNDING OF THE NORTH TEXAS REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT
TASK FORCE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force Grant has
proven to be an effective weapon in combating drug offenses in the North Texas area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has provided funds for a continuation of
Drug Enforcement Grants for fiscal year 2004 -2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject,
alter, or terminate the grant and will act as the authorized official to make application for
the fifteenth -year funding of the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force
Grant to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Byrne Program.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls commits to provide payment for all
applicable matching funds required for the fifteenth year funding of the North Texas
Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force.
SECTION 3. In the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
funds, the City of Wichita Falls assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal
Justice Division, Office of the Governor, in full.
SECTION 4. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
