RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR,
ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR TERMINATE THE SIXTEENTH YEAR
FUNDING OF THE NORTH TEXAS REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT
TASK FORCE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force Grant has
proven to be an effective weapon in combating drug offenses in the North Texas area;
and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has provided funds for a continuation of
Drug Enforcement Grants beginning October 1, 2005 — March 31, 2006, of the fiscal
year 2005 -2006; and,
WHEREAS, the matching funds requirement will be met by twenty -four entities
providing equal shares of the $97,351.00; and,
WHEREAS, the applicable share for the City of Wichita Falls for its participation
in the grant project is $4,425.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, reject,
alter or terminate the grant and will act as the authorized official to accept the sixteenth
year funding of the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls commits to provide payment for all
applicable matching funds required for the sixteenth year funding
SECTION 3. In the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
funds, the City of Wichita Falls assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal
Justice Division, Office of the Governor, in full.
SECTION 4 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
