RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, TO APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH BLACK & VEACH
CORPORATION FOR CHLORINE DIOXIDE RESIDUAL STUDY;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls uses chlorine dioxide in its water treatment
process; and
WHEREAS, the City has experienced elevated levels of residuals; and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that a consultant be retained for the purpose of
evaluating the cause of these increased levels, and
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed agreement with the
consulting firm of Black & Veatch Corporation whereby the firm will conduct a chlorine
dioxide residual study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The said agreement with the consulting firm of Black & Veatch
Corporation, to perform a chlorine dioxide residual study is hereby approved with a
minimum fee of $15,000.00 for agreed services. The City Manager is authorized to
execute the agreement for the City of Wichita Falls.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
