RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR THE FY 2004 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
BLOCK GRANT; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is eligible for a Department of Justice,
Bureau of Justice Assistance Local Law Enforcement Block Grant ( LLEBG) in the
amount of $26,984.00 with a 10% match of $2,998 for a total grant of $29,982.00; and
WHEREAS, the City will use the Police Department's forfeiture fund for the
required 10% local match; and
WHEREAS, at a later date, an advisory committee made up of members of the
community, as required by LLEBG policies, will make recommendations on how the
grant proceeds might be spent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is authorized to make application for the FY 2004
Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance Local Law Enforcement Grant.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
