RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE: BY THE WICHITA
FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT FROM THE SEIZED FUNDS ACCOUNT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,900 FOR A RENEWAL :iUBSCRIPTION TO
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTOMATED DATABASE SEARCH;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, by passage of Resolution 9 -2005 on January 18, 2005, the City
Council authorized the Wichita Falls Police Department to purchase an online
subscription to Law Enforcement Automated Database Search (L.E.A.D.S.); and,
WHEREAS, L.E.A.D.S. is a web -based service designed to facilitate the
recovery of stolen property and generate usable suspect information for investigators;
and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department is awarded confiscated funds,
and certain programs and procurements may be funded entirely by the seized funds
account; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department wishes to renew its online
subscription to L.E.A.D.S. by use of such confiscated funds; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to authorize this expenditure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The expenditure of funds in the amount of $6,900.00 from the
seized funds account by the Wichita Falls Police Department is hereby authorized to
purchase a renewal subscription to the Law Enforcement Automated Database Search.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
