RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE OFFICIAL NAMING OF THE
BROAD — HOLLIDAY OVERHEAD AS LLOYD RUBY OVERPASS;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, in honor and recognition of native Wichitan and race car legend
Lloyd Ruby, the City Council deems it in the public interest to recommend to the Texas
Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that they officially name the Broad — Holliday
overhead as Lloyd Ruby Overpass,
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . It shall be recommended to the Texas Department of
Transportation (TxDOT) that the section of IH -44 lying approximately between 5 Street
and 15 Street and is commonly referred to as the Broad — Holliday Overhead be
officially named Lloyd Ruby Overpass.
SECTION 2 . It is understood that the City of Wichita Falls will be responsible for
the costs to install any signage for this recognition.
SECTION 3 . It is heireby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
