A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, ACKNOWLEDGING AND EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION TO SENATOR KAY BAILEY HUTCHISON AND HER
STAFF FOR HER ASSISTANCE IN OBTAINING ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE FUNDS FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE
HOLT HOTEL; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls community has long desired a solution to the
derelict eight story Holt Hotel; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls provided Tax Increment Financing,
Community Development Block Grant funding, property assistance and staff
assistance; and
WHEREAS, the community provided local foundation assistance and supported
the project with individual donations; and
WHEREAS, U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison facilitated the award of two
Economic Development Incentive grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . That the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, TX along with its
citizens acknowledges and expresses appreciation to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison - For
her assistance and the assistance of her staff in obtaining Economic Development
Initiative funds for the renovation of the Holt Hotel.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
