RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE POSITION OF
MAYOR FOR THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED RV LAW.
WHEREAS, there is currently a vacancy in the office of Mayor for the City of
Wichita Falls', and,
WHEREAS, Section 23 of the City Charter provides that, if a vacancy occurs in
the office of Mayor, an eligible person shall be chosen to fill the place by a majority vote
of the remaining members of the City Council. Such person chosen to fill the vacancy
shall serve only until the next regular municipal election, scheduled for May ], 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT.
SECTION 1 . Arthur Bea Williams is hereby appointed as Mayor of the City of
Wichita Falls, as provided by Section 23 of the City Charter.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required bylaw
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 5" day of April, 2005.
