RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MS. SUSAN MORRIS OE THE WICHITA
FALLS- WICHITA COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICTAS THE LOCAL
RABIES CONTROL AUTHORITY FOR THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Rabies Control Act (Chapter 826, as amended May 5, 1995)
was established as a minimum statewide program to control and eradicate rabies in the
State of Texas, to be administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services,
with cooperation of the governing bodies of the counties and incorporated municipalities
within the State', and
WHEREAS, the Act requires that the governing bodies of the counties and
incorporated municipalities appoint a Local Rabies Control Authority to assume the
responsibilities of administering the Act' and
WHEREAS, the City staff deem it appropriate that Ms. Morris be appointed as
Local Rabies Control Authority for the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTION 1 . Ms. Susan Morris, R.S. of the Wichita Falls- Wichita County Public
Health District is hereby appointed as the Local Rabies Control Authority for the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
