RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
NEW LEASE LOT 1, BLOCK X, LAKE ARROWHEAD, EAST, WITH THE
ARROWHEAD BAPTIST CHURCH FOR TWENTY -FIVE (25) YEARS
BEGINNING JULY 18, 2005 THROUGH JULY 18, 2030; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The City and Arrowhead Baptist Church entered into a lease
agreement for twenty -five (25) years beginning July 18, 1980, property known as Lot 1,
Block X, Lake Arrowhead, East, Arrowhead Baptist Mission Lot; and
WHEREAS, said lease agreement will expire July 18, 2005; and
WHEREAS, allowing for an additional twenty -five (25) year lease will continue to
provide the Lake Arrowhead community and surrounding area continued community
service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is authorized to enter into a new lease with the
Arrowhead Baptist Church for a period of twenty -five (25) years beginning July 18, 2005
and expiring July 18, 2030. Such lease shall commence with an annual rent of three
hundred fifty dollars ($350.00), with the provision allowing the City to re- determine and
establish the lease amount every five (5) years for the life of the lease. Rate is not to
be increased by more than 30% of the current rate in effect for the preceding five (5)
years.
SECTION 2 . This lease rate is a special non - profit rate established for the
church and the lease will contain a clause to prohibit the assignment of this lease at the
same lease rate.
SECTION 3 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
