RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, AWARDING A PROPOSAL TO MATHIS, WEST, HUFFINES &
COMPANY TO CONDUCT THE: CITY'S ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2004 WITH OPTIONS TO
RENEW FOR EACH OF THE THREE SUBSEQUENT FISCAL YEARS;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED
BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City utilizes a firm of certified public accountants to audit the
financial records of the city on an annual basis, and
WHEREAS, the term of the existing auditing contract expired with the annual audit
for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2003, and
WHEREAS, the City solicited proposals from firms of certified public accountants to
audit the City's financial records for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2004, with the
City's option to extend the audit for each of the three subsequent fiscal years, and
WHEREAS, these proposals were evaluated by the City staff and discussed with
the Finance /Audit Committee of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the staff and the Council Committee recommends that Mathis, West,
Huffines & Co., P.C. receive the award of proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SEC 1 , The City of Wichita Falls hereby awards a proposal to Mathis, West,
Huffines & Co., P.C. to conduct the City's annual financial audit for the fiscal year ending
September 30, 2004, with the City's option to extend these services for each of the three
subsequent fiscal years.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which
this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
