Resolution authorizing award of bid for the asbestos abatement and
demolition of six residential properties in the 2200 Block of Monroe
Street to Mote’s Wholesale, Inc. in the amount of $68,950.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested bids for the
abatement and demolition of six residential properties; and,
WHEREAS, bids were received and publicly opened on August 31, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have the six residential properties abated
and demolished, and finds that Mote’s Wholesale, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The bid for abatement and demolition of the six residential properties
(2203, 2205, 2207, 2209, 2211 and 2213 Monroe Street) is awarded to Mote’s
Wholesale, Inc. in the amount of $68,950.00, and City staff is authorized to execute
contracts for demolition with said entity for said work.
2. If the awarded bidder fails to execute contracts for the abatement and
demolition as awarded herein, City Staff is authorized to execute contracts for
abatement and demolition with the next lowest bidder(s) for these properties in
accordance with the bid specifications.
