Ordinance Adopting Revised FEMA Flood Insurance Study And
Flood Insurance Rate Maps, Providing For Enforcement Of
Floodplain Regulations In Accordance Therewith, And Providing An
Effective Date Of February 3, 2010
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls was notified by the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) that the revised Flood Insurance Study (FIS), Flood
Insurance Rate Maps, and all modifications made prior to the effective date, for all
jurisdictions within Wichita County, including the City of Wichita Falls, Community
Number 480662, will become effective on February 3, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this revision by the Federal Emergency Management
Agency is to provide a digital update and re-delineation of the established flood hazard
areas for the City of Wichita Falls and Wichita County, providing more specific and
recent information; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency requires that all
standards, per Paragraph 60.3(d) of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
Regulations be met; and,
WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed the revised changes and has agreed to
adopt the revised FIS Report and FIRM Community Map Panels (which incorporates
the Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) modifications prior to its effective date), for all
jurisdictions within Wichita County, including the City of Wichita Falls, and to enforce all
FIS and FIRM Community Panel Maps for and pertaining to the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The following items, which are on file with the City's Department of
Development Services, are adopted and enforceable for areas within the City of Wichita
Falls and Wichita County, Texas, beginning February 3, 2010:

2. The City of Wichita Falls will enforce its floodplain regulations for areas within
the jurisdiction of the City of Wichita Falls, to the extent of its authority therein, including
the area outlined in Attachment A.
3. The effective date of the adoption of the aforementioned FEMA documents
shall be February 3, 2010.
