1. CALL TO ORDER.
A. Stephen Garner called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
2. MINUTES.
A. The minutes of February 25, 2016 were put before the Board. Penny Miller
made the motion to approve the minutes and Ben Filer seconded the
motion. The minutes were approved for Februrary 25, 2016.
3. DEPARTMENTAL REPORT.
A. Departmental Report was discussed on the van tour of six park locations:
1. Williams Park
2. Lions Park
3. Expressway Village Park
4. City View
5. Wichita Bluff Nature Area
6. Lake Wichita Spillway & Kemp St. Boat Ramp
4. PARK IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.
A. Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee report was discussed on the van
tour.
1. The Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee recommended that the City
Council immediately approve funding for paving the south Lake
Wichita Park gravel access road and parking lots. The
recommendation is due to complaints on the numerous pot holes and
heavier traffic occurring since Lake Wichita is full. Their reasons are
the gravel road regularly has pot holes after rains, it creates an
unfavorable image that does not contribute to the Lake Wichita
Revitalization Committee's improvement campaign, and is a high

maintenance demand for the Street Division. The Engineering
estimated cost for a 2 inch asphalt overlay without curb and guttering
is $$100,000. Ben Filer made the motion and Sharon Roach seconded
the motion. Motion passed.
A. The Circle Trail Task Force report was discussed on the van tour.
5. ADJOURNMENT.
A. Meeting was adjourned at 3:00 p.m. after the park van tour.
