Ill. 404 Permit Davis Powell reported that Corolla has finished evaluating d isposal sites-he is awaiting the report . Work is 70% complete . He sent out more technical memorandums out. Electronic copies are available to committee members from Engineering . Engineering will be reviewing these documents . They have sent Corolla their comments on earlier documents . Task order #3 went to City Council on June 21 for approval to spend $27 ,500. The agreement is awaiting transfer of funds from Lakeside City before being signed by the City Manager. Tom Lang expressed he feels the delay is unreasonable and the City has a lack of urgency on the project. The work was approved in April , but not sent to Council for 3 months and is still sitting awaiting funds transfer. The City Manager will not sign the check until funds are on hand . LAKE WICHITA COMMITTEE July 12 , 2016 Page 1 PAGE 1 of 3 PAGES AGENDA ITEM NO. 6.c Steve Garner asked that we get a pre-application meeting set up when we are 4 - 6 weeks away from finalizing the application. Davis Powell stated he has asked to s~e the work in progress so they can turn the final application more quickly. • IV. Fundraising Jack Murphy indicated the Boardwalk project is probably a 1 -2 year effort. The engineering work will be contracted out as a structural engineer and an architect are needed , which are not on the City staff. There is approximately $67 ,000 in the grant for this on a reimbursement basis . There is no word yet on the motor boat access grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife , although we expect to hear soon . Jack Murphy reported we will need to acquire some additional land if we get a grant for the boat ramp off Barnett Rd . The City has only a 25 ft drainage easement. It is possible the owner could donate a small piece of property . The in-kind value of the property could help offset the 25% match required for the grant. The grant request was for $209 ,000 , which would require a $52 ,000 match . Pat Hoffman needs to be involved in any discussions with land owners. Larry Scott agreed to work this issue. Davis Powell will send a copy of the map to Larry Scott. June was a good month for fundraising , putting $31 ,206 into the Foundation . This is the biggest donation month outside of grants. We are still awaiting funds from Bricktown , Herb Easly , Sewell Toyota and Texas Roadhouse . We received $5000 from All American Car Wash in July . Texoma Giving Day is September 15 . Steve Garner is awaiting word on a donut truck for that day . He is meeting with Jackie Hoegger to discuss. Tom Lang reported that Falls Distributing will be donating a portion of the proceeds from case purchases of beer in June , July and August. Some local restaurants will be having "Pint Nights " with the proceeds going to the Lake Wichita project. Steve Garner reminded the committee that Hotter 'n Hell is the weekend of August 25 and we will need people to man the booth at the trade show. Tom Lang said we will be having Ambassador training the first or second week in August. We need volunteers for events-the committee members are getting burned out. Tom Lang reported that local artists (to include our own Jake VanDonge) donated art work to the Lake Wichita project. We are selling prints . $50 for a small print and $200 for a large. They didn 't sell at the Arts and Soul festival , but they have been selling at McBride 's . Ford Swanson sponsored the $600 to purchase the prints . We have made that back. We will be partnering with Comet Cleaners and Planet Fitness in July. Comet Cleaners again in December and Planet Fitness again in January . There is a $5000 minimum guarantee . Fish are still selling for $1 at several places in town. The concert at The Yard went well. We received $750 . Tom Lang asked Jake VanDonge if he could go through the website and update the news as well as give any suggestions for improvement. Jake VanDonge agreed. Tom Lang presented the brick proposal. The bricks can be ordered onl ine for $100 for a small brick and $200 for a large . A logo can be added at extra charge if the donor wishes. It would be great to have ready for Hotter 'n Hell. Larry Scott moved that we partner with Polar Engraving to produce the bricks . Ford Swanson seconded the motion . Motion passed . V. Other Discussion Pete G ill says he has many questions from the public about when this project going to happen? Steve Garner says he doesn 't want to give any specific dates , but people should know that this is a long-term project. There are some parts that will come together in the short-term . We need to stick to the next step when talking to people . The next step is to have a permit by the end of the year. VI. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m .
