RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AWARDING A BID TO BREEGLE BUILDING
PRODUCTS FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING CARPET TILES,
BROADLOOM CARPET, CERAMIC TILES AND RESILIENT WALL
BOARD AT THE WICHITA FALLS PUBLIC LIBRARY, FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested bids for furnishing
and installing carpet tiles, broadloom carpet, ceramic tiles and resilient wall board for
the Wichita Falls Public Library; and
WHEREAS, bids were received and publicly opened on February 26, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder submitted a request for an approved equal for carpet
tiles, but not the broadloom carpet in accordance with the bid specifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desire to award bid to the second low bidder in lieu
of rejecting bids and re-bidding the project at a later date; and
WHEREAS, Breegle Building Products submitted the second low bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Bids for furnish and installing carpet tiles, broadloom carpet,
ceramic tiles and resilient wall board is hereby awarded to Breegle Building Products in
the amount of $107,765.50.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
