Res 055-2009 4/7/2009 RESOLUTION NO. �J-2sOC� Resolution To Accept American Recovery And Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funds Totaling $1,770,192 For The Purpose Of Purchasing Four 35-Foot Low-Floor Buses And Specified Transit Capital Resources. WHEREAS, the President of the United States signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on February 17, 2009; and WHEREAS, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allows for the replacement of transit buses and the purchase of transit capital resources, and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to accept $1,770,192 of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to purchase four additional 35-foot low-floor buses and additional transit capital resources, and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls will have 50% of the accepted funds obligated by September 6, 2009 and the remaining 50% obligated by March 9, 2010, and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to purchase said low-floor buses and transit capital resource items for the express purpose of upgrading the Wichita Falls Transit System. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds in the amount of $1,770,192 to purchase four 35-foot low-floor buses and additional transit capital resource items.
