Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Apply for Grant Funds to
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program In
The Amount Of $292,833.00 With Co-Applicant, Wichita County,
Texas
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that it is eligible for $292,833.00 from the
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to submit a
grant application to obtain these funds; and
WHEREAS, 10% of said award in the amount of $29,283.30 will be used for
grant administration expenses for the Wichita Falls Police Department; and
WHEREAS, one-half of said remaining award ($263,549.70) will be shared
evenly with Wichita County, Texas, co-applicant for such grant; and
WHEREAS, the use of these funds are planned to be used to assist in the
purchase of 2 Portable Power Point Projectors, 2 Portable Projector Screens, Axciton
Systems Polygraph Equipment, Evidence Drying Cabinet, 3 Digital Audio/Video
Recorders, Programmer Software Update, 10 VHF Mobile Radios, Thermal Imaging
Device, 2 Camera Lens, SWAT Equipment Vehicle, and to assist in the Personnel
expenses related to the Administration of these JAG funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
apply as a co-applicant to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
Program for funds, in an amount expected to be received of $292,833.00.
