Resolution Authorizing The Purchase Of A Six-Acre Tract Of Land At
1207 Hatton Road For The Purpose Of Building An Animal Reclaim
Shelter
WHEREAS, a needs assessment study on the current Humane Society Facilities
determined the facility to be significantly below standards; and
WHEREAS, on October 14, 2008, the Humane Society Board of Directors voted
not to participate with the City in a joint partnership for new facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Wichita Falls finds that it is in the City's best
interest to acquire the six-acre tract of land located at 1207 Hatton Road for the purpose
of building a new animal reclaim shelter; and
WHEREAS, the City has obtained an option to purchase the property described
herein in exchange for $150,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Property Administrator is authorized to execute all documents necessary to
acquire the 6-acre tract of property depicted on the attached Location Map as 1207
Hatton Road, in exchange for $150,000.
