Resolution (1) Approving An Amendment To The PY 2008 Action
Plan Of The 2005-2009 Consolidated Plan Of The City Of Wichita
Falls To Allocate $381,303 In CDBG-R Stimulus Funding Received
From The U.S. Department Of Housing And Urban Development
(HUD) Under The American Recovery And Reinvestment Act Of 2009,
And (2) Authorizing The Execution Of All Documents Necessary To
Apply For, Accept, and Allocate Funding Pursuant To Said
Amendment
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls acting in its capacity as a HUD Grantee
administers federally-funded programs to benefit the community; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing to receive citizen input
and the City Manager and staff have recommended this change to the PY 2008 Annual
Action Plan; and,
WHEREAS, during the Public Hearing, the full City Councit reviewed the
recommended amendment, proposed application and use of funds, concurred that this
application for funding is in the interest of the community, approved the project in the PY
2008 Annual Action Plan, and determined that no matching funds are expected to be
required by the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City Council of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby approves and adopts an
amendment to the PY 2008 Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan that wilf
provide for developing, implementing, and administering eligible programs through the
CDBG-R Program, specifically infrastructure improvements for water line replacements
along a portion of Tulip, Roosevelt, and Bonner Streets, and the amendment may be
completed and submitted with changes as approved by the City Manager.
2. The City of Wichita Falls, acting in its capacity as a HUD Grantee, is
authorized to apply for $381,303 in funding through the CDBG-R Stimulus Program of
the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, to be utilized for infrastructure
improvements and eligible administrative costs. The City Council authorizes the City
Manager to execute any and all amendments, agreements, and other documents
necessary to implement the aforementioned action and apply for, accept, and allocate
the aforementioned funds.
