Resolution Approving the Joint Funding Agreement for Water
Resource Investigations, Number 10C4TX039000000, with the U.S.
Geological Survey for annual operations and maintenance of gauge
stations and water quality collection and analysis
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a Joint-Funding Agreement with the
U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) of the U.S. Department of the Interior to operate and
maintain a series of stream flow and reservoir-content gauging stations on the Little
Wichita River Water Shed for the amount of $74,110.00;
WHEREAS, the City Staff and USGS have agreed to share funding for the
operations and maintenance of Little Wichita River gauging stations near Archer City,
Texas, Lake Arrowhead near Henrietta, Texas, Little Wichita River above Henrietta,
Texas, and Big Wichita River at Loop 11;
WHEREAS, City Staff have agreed to solely fund the operations and
maintenance of Wichita River gauging stations at FM 368 near lowa Park, Texas, and
Holliday Creek at Wichita Falls, Texas; and
WHEREAS, City Staff and the Red River Authority have agreed to share funding
for the Wichita River gauging station near Charlie, Texas for monitoring of the water pH
and conductivity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Joint Funding Agreement for Water Resource Investigations, Number
10C4TX039000000, with the U.S. Geological Survey, attached hereto, is approved, and
the City Manager is authorized to execute this agreement and all documents necessary
to provide for the funding described therein.
