Resolution Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents
Necessary To Apply For and Accept Grant Funds From The Edward
Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program In The Amount Of
$71,232 With Co-Applicant, Wichita County, Texas
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible for
$71,232 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to submit an
application to obtain any available funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, 10% of the award ($7,123.20) will be used for grant administration
expenses for the Wichita Falls Police Department, and the remainder ($64,108.80) will
be shared evenly with Wichita County, Texas, co-applicant for this grant; and,
WHEREAS, the funds are planned to assist in the purchase of ballistic vests,
ammunition, and personnel expenses related to the administration of these funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
apply for and accept funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
Program in the amount of $71,232 with co-applicant, Wichita County, Texas, and as
described above.
