Resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit an application to
the United States Air Force Static Display Program to acquire a jet
engine to be displayed at Wichita Falls Regional Airport
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has included a museum display area in the
development of its new Airport terminal building; and,
WHEREAS, the Museum of North Texas History has dedicated this floor space
to military aviation history in the Wichita Falls region; and,
WHEREAS, the Museum desires to include a jet engine as part of that display
area; and,
WHEREAS, the United States Air Force Static Display Program allows for the
loan of aircraft and aircraft equipment for exhibits; and,
WHEREAS, the City is an eligible candidate to apply fo r the loan of a jet engine
for this display.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application to the United
States Air Force Static Display Program to begin the process of obtaining a jet engine
for display at the Wichita Falls Regional Airport.
