Resolution Awarding Construction Manager At Risk Services To
Gallagher Construction Services For The Construction Of The
Wichita Falls Animal Services Center In The Amount Of
Approximately $355,580 Plus Construction Costs To Be Determined
By Subsequent Amendment
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is in the early phase of designing a new
Animal Services Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and City Manager (via authority delegated thereto)
have determined that the construction manager at risk method of obtaining the
construction of this project will provide a better value for the City with respect to this
expenditure than construction pursuant to receipt of competitive bids, and the City has
validly used the procedures described in Subchapter H of Chapter 271 of the Texas
Local Government Code to obtain these services and complied with other statutory
provisions related thereto; and
WHEREAS, proposals from general contractors were received and evaluated by
the City based on criteria outlined in the Request for Proposal; and
WHEREAS, according to the selection criteria that were established by the City,
the City has determined that Gallagher Construction Services' proposal will provide the
best value to the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
The City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement and all other
documents necessary to obtain construction manager at risk services from Gallagher
Construction Services for the construction of the Wichita Falls Animal Services Center,
in the amount of approximately $355,580 plus construction costs to be determined by
subsequent amendment.
