Resolution Awarding Bids For The Annual Supply Of Chemicals For
Water And Wastewater Treatment to Various Vendors
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested bids for the
purchase of the annual supply of chemicals for water and wastewater treatment; and
WHEREAS, bids were received and publicly opened on July 15, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase chemicals for the City's water
and wastewater treatment operation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Bids for the annual supply of water and wastewater treatment chemicals are
awarded to the following companies in the unit prices shown under the 2009-2010 bid
price in the attached Chemical Cost Summary 2009:
• Sulfur Dioxide to DPC Industries, Inc. in the estimated amount of
$57,300.00.
• Hydrofluorisilic Acid to Harcros Chemicals in the estimated amount of
$82,671.68.
• Liquid Ferric Sulfate to Kemira Water Solutions in the estimated amount of
$348,600.42.
• Potassium Permanganate to American International Chemical, Inc. in the
estimated amount $16,106.44.
• Sodium Chlorite to Siemens Water Technologies in the estimated amount
of $121,630.14.
• Anhydrous Ammonia to Airgas in the estimated amount of $40,000.00.
• Calcium Oxide to Texas Lime Company in the estimated amount of
$479,080.00.
• Citric Acid to Valley Solvents & Chemicals in the estimated amount of
$19,050.00.
• Copper Sulfate to Garrison Minerals in the estimated amount of
$34,160.00.
• Liquid Carbon Dioxide to Praxair, Inc. in the estimated amount of
$141,700.00.
• Liquid Chlorine (bulk) to Brenntag Southwest in the estimated amount of
$68,670.00.
• Liquid Chlorine (1-ton cylinders) to DPC Industries in the estimated
amount of $129,920.00.
