Resolution Authorizing The OfFicials Of The City Of Wichita Falls And
The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District To Execute
Interlocal Agreements With The Independent School Districts Of
Burkburnett, City View, Electra, lowa Park And Wichita Falls, For The
Use Of Schools During Declared Public Health Emergencies
WHEREAS, the outbreak of disease from natural or man-made sources, or as
the result of an act of terrorism can pose facility, manpower and resource problems
beyond the capacity of the Wichita Falls Public Health District; and
WHEREAS, to protect the health and safety of the public throughout Wichita
Falls, the City Council seeks to secure equipment and resources from local providers in
the event of a local public health emergency or act of terrorism; and,
WHEREAS, a formal agreement between the City of Wichita Falls and various
private entities allows for better coordination of this effort, ensure that appropriate
documentation is maintained by those providing resources, and help to make certain
that this effort is accomplished as quickly as possible should the need arise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The officials of the City of Wichita Falls and Wichita Falls/Wichita County Public
Health District are authorized to execute Interlocal Agreements with the Independent
School Districts of Burkburnett, City View, Electra and Wichita Falls for the use of
schools during declared public health emergencies.
