Resolution Awarding Bids For Demolition Of Hazardous Structures
To Bouldin Demolition And Clearing In The Amount Of $7,749.00; To
Weakley Welding In The Amount Of $7,490.00; And To Wilson
Contracting In The Amount Of $19,766.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested bids for the
demolition of hazardous structures, and bids were received and publicly opened on July
24, 2009; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to have the hazardous structures demolished,
and
WHEREAS, A& A Construction, H& H Demolition and Romance Plumbing
qualified their bids on an "All or None" basis, and the City has determined that 302 Polk
should not be demolished because the owner has obtained demolition permits and
indicated its intent to demolish its own structure, thereby negating the value of "all or
none" bids; and
WHEREAS, Nationwide Demolitions withdrew its bid; and
WHEREAS, City Council finds that the bids depicted by highlight on the attached
Bid Tabulation are the lowest responsible bids for each demolition project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Bids for the demolition of hazardous structures as authorized by the City
Council at its June 2, 2009 Council Meeting is awarded to the bidders for the bids
highlighted on the attached Bid Tabulation as follows:
Bouldin Demolition and Clearing in the amount of $7,749.00,
Weakley Welding in the amount of $7,490.00, and
Wilson Contracting in the amount of $19,766.00.
2. If any bidders fail to execute contracts for the demolition as awarded herein,
City Staff are authorized to execute contracts for demolition with the next lowest bidders
for these properties.
