Ordinance amending Fee Ordinance No. 43-2015 adopted September
15, 2015, to provide for a Solicitor’s Permit Renewal Fee
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 43-2015 was adopted September 15, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, said ordinance established fines, fees and rates for various services
and regulated City operations which are authorized to create or enforce such fees by state
or federal law or by the Code of Ordinances; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has amended Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances
at Article III, Solicitors, to add aggressive solicitor regulations, and established a renewal
fee of $50.00 for the solicitor’s permit, with such fee to be set by th e City’s Fee Ordinance;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the fines, fees, and rates described herein
are necessary to provide for the services and regulated programs .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Ordinance No. 43-2015, the City’s Fee Ordinance, is hereby amended at 3., City
Clerk, to provide for a renewal fee for the Solicitor’s Permit Fee, with such amendment to
hereafter read as follows:
“3. City Clerk
3a. Miscellaneous City Clerk Fees:
(1) Liquor Permit Certification Fee .....$ $50.00
(2) Solicitor’s Permit Fee .....$100.00
Renewal Fee…….$100.00
Plus per employee working under permit .....$10.00
(3) Itinerant Merchant Permit Fee .....$30.00
Plus per additional location .....$30.00
(4) Secondhand Metal Dealer Permit Fee .....$15.00
(5) Crafted Precious Metal Dealer Permit Fee .....$15.00
Plus per employee working under permit .....$10.00
(6) Transient Show License Fee .....$25.00
Plus per day …..$10.00”
2. The fee schedule established by this ordinance shall be made available to the
public through the Office of the City Clerk, and be published online in such a manner as
to be available to the public.
3. Should any section or provision of this ordinance be declared by a court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, that decision shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any part thereof, other than the part so declared to be invalid.
4. To the extent that the Code of Ordinances establishes the existence of a fee,
this ordinance will govern the amount of that fee, but this ordinance shall not be codified.
5. The immediate need to continue the normal operation of the business of the City
creates an emergency and in order to protec t the public health, welfare and to preserve
the peace, this ordinance shall take effect immediately, and it is so ordained.
