ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2001 -02 BUDGET FOR THE TRANSIT
SYSTEM TO REFLECT ADDITIONAL FEDERAL AND STATE GRANT
APPROPRIATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY FUNDING AGREEMENTS RELATED
HERETO; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the 2001 -02 budget for the Transit System includes $725,533 in
federal and state funding for operations of the Transit System; and,
WHEREAS, the City has been informed after the adoption of the budget that an
additional $101,162 federal and state funding for the Transit System is available for the
2001 -02 fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, it is desirable to budget these additional grant funds for (1)
installation of a parts storage facility in the Central Services Complex ($20,000), (2) an
evaporative cooler (Port-a -Cool) for the maintenance shop ($4,800), and (3)
contingency funds to be used later in the fiscal year if necessary for preventative
maintenance /operating needs ($76,362).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The 2001 -02 Transit Budget is hereby amended to include
appropriations of additional federal and state transit funds in the amount of $101,162 for
installation of a parts storage facility in the Central Services Complex ($20,000), an
evaporative cooler (Port-a -Cool) for the maintenance shop ($4,800), and contingency
funds to be used later in the fiscal year if necessary for preventative
maintenance /operating needs ($76,362).
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into all necessary state
and federal funding agreements required to operate the Wichita Falls Transit System.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
