ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, WAIVING SECTION 82 -58 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE YMCA OF WICHITA FALLS TO DRIVE
A VEHICLE(S) UPON KIWANIS AND JAYCEE PARKS TO DRAG THE
INFIELDS AND TO MARK THE LINES OF THE ELEVEN BASEBALL
FIELDS TO BE USED IN ITS YOUTH /PARENT SPRING BASEBALL
LEAGUE FROM MARCH 20, 2002 THROUGH AUGUST 8, 2002;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the YMCA of Wichita Falls desires to conduct a youth /parent spring
baseball league at Jaycee and Kiwanis Parks; and
WHEREAS, in order to more effectively run this league, they request permission
to drive a vehicle(s) onto the parks' grounds in order to drag the infields and to mark the
lines of the eleven baseball fields to be used in the league at Jaycee and Kiwanis
Parks; and
WHEREAS, Section 82 -58 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances prohibits the
driving of vehicles in, over or through any park except upon paved streets or driveways.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 82 -58 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances is hereby
waived to allow the YMCA of Wichita Falls to drive a vehicle(s) upon Kiwanis and
Jaycee Parks to drag the infields and to mark the lines of the eleven baseball fields to
be used in its Youth /Parent Spring Baseball League from March 20, 2002 through
August 8, 2002.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
