ORDINANCE WAIVING SEC 82 -68 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
TO PERMIT POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES OUTSIDE THE FENCE OF THE LOG CABIN IN LUCY
PARK DURING AN EVENT SPONSORED BY THE CONVENTION AND
VISITORS BUREAU SEPTEMBER 15, 2002; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Convention and Visitors Bureau wishes to serve alcoholic
beverages at an event in the Log Cabin in Lucy Park September 15, 2002, and;
WHEREAS, the anticipated number of visitors will exceed the capacity of the
area within the structure and fence of the Log Cabin, and;
WHEREAS, in order for the event to be more successful they request permission
to allow possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages outside the fence of the
Log Cabin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Ordinance Sec 82 -68 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to permit the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages within 100 feet of the
fence of the Log Cabin in Lucy Park during an event by the Convention and Visitors
Bureau September 15, 2002.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
