Ordinance Appropriating $116,000 To The Special Revenue Fund For
HIV Prevention Services, Received From The Texas Department Of
State Health Services HIV Prevention Grant, And Authorizing The City
Manager To Execute All Documents Necessary To Accept Said Grant
WHEREAS, sexually transmitted diseases represent a significant health risk to
the citizens of our community and the surrounding area; and,
WHEREAS, the Health District and the Department of State Health Services
desire to enter into a contract for HIV preventative services; and
WHEREAS, the approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
the adoption of the 2010 - 2011 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated $116,000 in the Special Revenue Fund for the HIV
prevention program, received from the Texas Department of State Health Services, and
the City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with said agency and all other
documents necessary to accept the aforesaid funds for the Wichita Falls-Wichita
County Health District.
