Min 02/05/1951 924 i i Wichita Falls, Texas February 5, 1951 The Board of Aldermen of the City of WichitaFalls, Texas, met in called session on the above date, at 7-30 o'clock P. M., in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building, with the following members present: Harold Jones Mayor Lloyd C. Thomas Roy W. Parish J.R. Ray Aldermen R. A. Putman R. J. Broom J. B. Hickerson City Clerk Frank Wood City Manager J. Walter Friberg City Attorney Mayor Harold Jones announced that the purpose of this meeting was to discuss the proposed telephone rate increase. After numerous questions el,� ngC to the oerl too of the Telephone Company in Wichita Falls, had been aske�by memseprseo el oard of Aldermen, and discussed at length, the following motion was had: Moved by Alderman Brown that City Manager Frank Wood be authorized to negotiate with the Telephone Company officials as to an acceptable rate increase and report his findings to the Board of Aldermen at their next regular meeting February 122 1951. This motion died for want of a second. The Wichita Falls Traffic Club, represented by a committee composed of Bob Burnam, Jack Christopher and M. D. Dooley, presented to the Council a resolution adopted by the Traffic Club, asking for a re-routing of city buses tin indiafA instead of Scott. No action was taken by the City Council at this time. The members of the Board of Aldermen agreed to meet at 6 o'clock February .12, 1951, to further consider the proposed telephone rate increase. Moved by Alderman Ray that the meeting be adjourned.
