Min 10/02/1950 880 WichitaFalls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Bldg. October 2, 1950 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session on the above date at 7-30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium Building, with the following members present: Harold Jones Mayor L. R. Abbott Lloyd C. Thomas Roy W. Parish Aldermen J. R. Ray R. J. Brown J. B. Hiekerson City Clerk Frank Wood City Manager J. Walter Friberg City Attorney Mayor Harold Jones announced the purpose of this meeting to be the public hearing which was set September 25, 1950, on the proposed bus franchise to Wichita City Lines, Inc. When no one came forward to protest the granting of the franchise to Wichita City Lines, Inc., the following motion was had: Moved by k1derman Thomas that the Public Hearing be closed. Motion seconded by Alderman Parish and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Abbott, Thomas, Parish, Ray and R.J.Brown. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Abbott that the application to transfer the Certificate of Convenience and Necessity from Hamp's Taxicab Co. to the D.& F. Motor Co. be approved, provided the D & F Motor Co. pays - the delinquent 2% gross receipt tax owed by Hamp's Taxicab Co. for August and Septemb--r, 1950p all Taxicab Companies having signed Waiver of Notice of Public Hearing on this Transfer. Motion seconded by Alderman Parish and carried. Jack Atnip came before the Council requesting permission to transfer his lease on the Lake Kickapoo concession to his brother-in-law, Ted Doty, as he had been called back to the Navy, The City Manager, Frank Wood, was instructed to secure further information on this matter and report same at the regular meeting October 9, 1950, Moved by Alderman Parish that the Order of Corporation Judge Jack Gant to the Chief of Police,to pick up the chauffeur's licenses of Travis Houston Griffin and William Carroll Hatfield, be upheld and that the said licenses be revoked, since both had been convicted for violation of the penal statutes of the State of Texas. Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried, 881 Moved by Alderman R. J. Brown that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.
