Min 08/01/1950 859 Wichita Falls,, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building August 1,, 1950 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls., Texas., met in called session on the above date at 1:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium Builcing, with the following members present: Harold Jones Mayor L. R. Abbott Lloyd C. Thomas Roy W. Parish Aldermen J. R. Ray Berr7 Brown R. J. Brown J. B. Hickerson City Clerk Frank Wood City Manager - - - - - - - - - - Mayor Harold Jones asked if any one present wished to make any statement to the Board of Aldermen before they considered a proposed Ordinance to repeal the franchise of the Wichita City Lines,, Inc.., whereupon Geo, Ackerman, Mgr. of the Wichita City Lines, Inc. requested a delay of 15 days, in order that the Wichita City Lines might have sufficient time to show cause why their franchise should not be repealed. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Abbott that additional time., requested by Geo. Ackerman for the Wichita City Lines, Inc. be denied. Motion seconded by Alderman R. J. Brown and carried. - - - - - - - - - - ORDINANCE NO. 1534 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1337., GRANTING TO THE WICHITA TRA14SIT CORPORATION., A TEXAS CORPORATION., AND ITS LAWFUL SUCCESSORS THE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO MAINTAIN AND OPERATE MOTOR BUSES AS A CITY-WIDE MOTOR BUS TRANSPORTATION SYSTal., AND THEREBY CANCELLING AND ANNULLING THE RIGHTS GRANTED TO THE WICHITA CITY LINES,, INC.., UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 1491, WHEREIN AND WHEREBY THE WICHITA CITY LINES., INC.,, WAS GRANTED THE AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE BY TRANSFER THE FRANCHISE ORIGINALLY GRANTED TO THE WICHITA TRANSIT COMPANY., A CORPORATION, UNDER SAID ORDINANCE NO. 1337., AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
