That the said plans and specifications be and they are hereby
adopted and approved as those under., by and in accordance with which the said
improvements shall be made and constructed,
That the City Manager of the City of Wichita Falls., Texas., be and
he is hereby directed to advertise for competitive bids for the making and con-
structing of said improvements in the manner and for the length of time and in
the form required and provided for by the City Charter and the State laws in
force and effect at this time and by the Ordinances and proceedings of this
Board, and that such bids will be received until, and shall be opened on., the
30th day of June, 1950, at 2 O'clock P. M., and all bids shall be made in the

A RESOLUTION FIXING MINIMUM WAGE SCALE
WHEREAS., an investigation has been made of the hourly wage rates which are
being paid in the City of Wichita Falls., Texas, which is the locality in which the
proposed construction of a 1,000,000 gallon Steel Elevated Water Tank and a 317,000
gallon Steel Standpipes or a 130,000 gallon Steel Elevated Water Tank2 hereinafter
referred to as "Project". is to be constructed by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.,
to employees in each trade or occupation engaged in work of a nature similar to the
work to be performed in the construction of said Project., and the prevailing hourly
wage rates being paid in such locality to such employees for such work have been de-
termined by investigation and referred to as wage rates.,
NOW,, THEREFOREj, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, that the following rates for the respective trades or occupa-
tions listed below shall be and are hereby fixed as the minimum hourly wage .rates
and have been determined in accordance with rates prevailing for work of a similar
nature in the locality in which the project is to be constructed.

Texas, has heretofore prepared plans and specifications for the construction of

WHEREAS,, the Board of Aldermen of the City of 1p,,Tichita Falls., Texas, has
heretofore ordered that the portions of streets and avenue in the city of WicLita

the City of Wichita Falls ten percent (10%) of the gross receipts of such advertising,

SALE OF REAL ESTATE AND DECLARING AN EKERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls,, Texas,, is the owner of the following des-
cribed real estate situated in Wichita County., State of Texas., no part of which is
needed for municipal governmental purposes., to-wit:
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Wichita County.,
Texas., situated on the waters of the Wichita River and embracing, in part., the

Base-Military Reservation for the use of the United States Army Air Forces; and
WHEHEAS, the above described land is now and has been used and occupied by
the United States of America for such Air Force Base, under leases from the City
of Wicnita Falls, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force has deemed that
a military iiecessity exists for the acquisition of saia land and that fee simple
title thereto should be vested in the United States; and
WHEREAS., the United States of America has requested the transfer of title to
said property to it and has offered to pay to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, a
nominal consideration, or a consideration of the sum of ONE and NO1100 DOLLAR
($1.00); and
WHT�HEAS, the 1.1ayor and City Council of thisCity deem it advisable, proper., and
for the best interests of the City to sell and convey said property for said considera-
tion.
NOWj, THE�EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Wichita Falls Texas, duly assembled in lawful and regular session in said City on

this 12th day of June, 1950, a quorum of said Council being present and participating,
a motion having been duly made and seconded for such purpose, that the City convey
to the United States of America all of its right, title and interest in said land

and for no other monetary consideration., i,.rhich moticn was unanimously adopted by
the Mayor and City Council of this City.
IT IS HEHEBY HESCLVED AND CRDERED: That said motion be, and is her-.by
adopted and that the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby aLtL�-iD.-rizt-.�d to convey
by an appropriate conveyance the hereinbelf.ore described lands in fee to the United
States of America and that the 'Xla�,ror of said City be, and is hereby authorized to

A petition bearing approximately 40 names of residents in the vicinity
of the 320C block on Avenue S, requesting an audience with the City Council, to
discuss drainage problems in this area., was presented to the Council., and the
requested audience was granted for any time convenient to the pet4tioners.
A petition bearing approximately 25 names of residents of the area
known as TP.Tichita Gardens, requesting that no additional water connections be
made to additional residences., other than those now under construction,, which
were started before May 5, 195G, was presented to the Council. No action was
taken on this petition.

to install, above ground, 7 storage tanks for storage of gasoline, kerosene, and
diesel fuel within their property lines at their new bulk plant location on the
Old Burkburnet.t road*

April charity patients in the amount of $5,443.81, be approved for payment and

permit of any Taxicab Company operating in the City of Wichita Falls, that is
