WHEREAS., by Resolution No, 58., passed by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls.. Property Line of Fifth No, Property Line of Seventh Avenue K West Property Line of Monroe East Property Line of Polk were ordered improved,, and various provisions relating to the improvement of said portions of avenues and streets were set out in said Resolution No. 58; and WHEREAS., there were certain errors in the description of the above por- tions of the avenues and streets as set forth in said Resolution, and whereas there was omitted from said Resolution a portion of Twelfth Street., which should have been included in said Resolution No, 58; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF W'ICHITA FALLS2 TEXAS: 1. It is hereby found and determined that it is not practical to proceed with the improvement of the above portions of the streets and avenues therein de- scribed but that the same should be redescribed so as to properly reflect and describe those portions of the streets and avenues which are to be so improved,, and that the portion of Twelfth Street should be added therefo. 2. Ruhmann, Water Engineer of the City of Wichita falls, Texas, has heretofore prepared plans and specifications for the construction of 12 0 ,,000,000 gallon Conventional Settling Basins or 12,000,000 allon Updraft Softening Unit, which plans and specifications were thereafter duly adopted and approved for such construction and bids were advertised for and received, and on the 8th day of June, 1950, such bids were opened; and WHEREAS the bids received have been fully tabulated, canvassed and considered, and the Board of Aldermen, after fully considering the same, is of the opinion that the bid of Ransdell Construction Co.,, Waco,, Texas., is the lowest and most advantageous and should be accepted for 12,000,000 gallon Updraft Soften- in,- Unit. A petition bearing approximately 25 names of residents of the area known as TP.Tichita Gardens, requesting that no additional water connections be made to additional residences., other than those now under construction,, which were started before May 5, 195G, was presented to the Council. No action was taken on this petition. Moved by Alderman Parish that the Texas Company be granted permission to install, above ground, 7 storage tanks for storage of gasoline, kerosene, and diesel fuel within their property lines at their new bulk plant location on the Old Burkburnet.t road* Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried. 833 Moved by Alderman H. J. Brown that the Dowell Inc. be granted per- mission to lay a 61, vitrified sewer tile line from their property at Pecan & Virginia St. to the Creek 600, South. Motion seconded by Alderman Abbott and carried. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Ray that the Wichita General hospital bill for April charity patients in the amount of $5,443.81, be approved for payment and the City Clerk directed to draw a warrant for the same. Broi%n and carried. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Hay that the City Clerk be authorized to cancel the permit of any Taxicab Company operating in the City of Wichita Falls, that is 30 days in arrears on its payment of the 2% gross receipts tax, authorized by Ordinance No. 1444. Brourn that City Manager, Frank Wood, be authorized to enter ne-otiations to employ attorneys to assist in arrangements C, to amend the City Charter.
