Alderman Thomas made a motion that the Resolution be adopted finally. The motion was seconded by Alderman hunter. The motion was. carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Abbott, Ray, Thomas, Brown, Parish and Hunter and Mayor Jones. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Brown that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize sale of the A & A Taxi dba Continental Lines, Inc., and Safeway Cab Co. to Glenn 1'. Krotti-nger dba A &- A Taxi and Safeway Cab Co., and further to authorize transfer to the said Glenn W. KrottinSer all of the Certificates of Convenience and Necessity previously issued to A & A Taxi and Safeway Cab Co. when and at such time as sufficient insurance coverage is -furnished to the City Clerk. Motion seconded by Alderman Parish and carried. - - - - - - - - - - 718 Moved by Alderman Parish that the Board of k1dei-nen authorize the issuance of a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity to the Checker Cali Co. to operate six additional taxi-cabs on the streets of the City of Wichi- ta Falls, providing each of the taxicabs is covered with the required insurance, Motion seconded by Alderman Abbott and carried. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Abbott that the Board of Aldermen approve and ratify the action of the City Manager, Frank Wood, for the entry into contract on behalf of the City of Wic�dta Falls with Jack Atnip covering a commercial lease at Lake Kickapoo, executed 14cvember 21., 1949, upon the terms and condi- tions therein stated, a copy of which is filed in the office of the City Clerk for future reference. Motion seconded by Alderman Hay and carried. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman BrolAm that the Bcard of Aldermen authorize the issuance of a permit to the HiL-,�Dle Cil & Refining Co. for the purpose of in- stalling 1 - 3000, 1 - 4000, and I - 5000 gallon underground gasoline stcra�e tanks at the corner of East Scott and Denison, providing that same are installed in acco&dance Ath the requirements of the City Engineer. Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried. Moved by Aldom.an Broun that the Board of Aldermen authorize a refund to A. W. Robbins in amcunt of $6.50 on account of double tax payment for the year 1949, coverinc, Lot 5, Block 144, Original, and to direct the City Clerk 1� to draw a warrant for the same. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunter and carried. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Hay that -. M. Crow,, Jr. be appointed Acting City I'llanager for such time or times as the City Manager may be absent from the City, or other4ise as the City Manager may direct, with full authority to do all things necessary in the above mentioned capacity. Motion seconded by Alderipan Parish and carried. Moved by Alderman Brown that the Board of Aldermen authorize the acceptance from the U. S. of America the rent on approximately 604 acres of land at Sheopard Field at $1.00 per year, for the period from July 1, 1947, to June 30, 1949. Motion seconded by Aldennan Parish and carried. Moved by Alderman Brown that the Board of Alderien authorize the execution of an Agreement by and between the City of Wichita Falls and Tanner- Evans Eye Level Advertising, Inc., acting through its manager, Garnett A. Evans, for the installation of a certain number of benches at bus stops in the City., as recited in the said Agreement, and upon the terms and conditions therein stated, and to authorize City Manager, Frank Wood, to execute the same for and on behal" of the City. Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried. - - - - - - - - - - 719 A petition signed by various members of the Fire Department, asking the City to pay to the Fir-amens Relief & Retirement Fund 3%, or a like amount paid into said Firemens Relief & Ret� re-ikent Fund by members of the Fire Department., was discussed by members of the Council, thereupon the following motion was had: Moved by Alderman Brown that the above and foregoing request be deferred �o a later date. Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried. Moved by Alderman Ray that the Board of Aldermen authorize use of the Municipal Auditoriurh, free gratis, to the local Lions Club to hold a wrestling iaatch the evening of December 22nd for the purpose of raising funds to purchase gifts for under-privileted children of the City; also to use the Auditorium again on the afternoon of December 25th to distribute such gifts. Motion seconded by Alderman Parish and carried. The application ofRent-A-Car Inc. of Lubbock, Texas, for permit to operate ten driverless autos in the City was examined by Mayor Harold Jones V who then stated that the same appeared to be in proper form, thereupon Mayor Harold Jones directed the City Clerk to issue such permit when and at such time as the proper insurance policy is filed with the City Clerk. Moved by AlderLtan Parish that the Board of Aldermen go on record as voicing the senti ents of the entire Council and express its appreciation and thanks to each anmd every person and the va-.ious organizations who participated in the search for the bodies of the two young men who recently peri3hed in Lake Kemp. Motion seconded by Aldeman Thomas and carried.
