Of TJiCr I.$ A. Isbell, a citizen ita Falls, Tex, arq appearing before you behalf of a certain group of City oml:�loyees to request the removal of J. D. Huffines Supt. of the garbage dept and ii1r. L. L. Felltrian Supt of the 3treet Dept. from their duties. The reason for this request is due to their gross discrimination among their employees. Mr. Joe'Tdillen who represents one of the local labor unions, stated that he had made an extensive study and investiLation with reference to the anove and had found no evidence whatsoevcr to justify the complaint. MVor Jones stated that in accordance with his interpretation of the terms of the Charter, it was not -within the jurisdiction of the Council to act upon such matters which were purely the prerogative of the city manager, thereupon, after much discu3sion, it was mutually agreed that the Council and City Manager would meet with 1,ir. Joe A. hell and I are the owners of a small acreage tract located on the Sey-mour Road and adjacent to the Evans Pharmacy property. Part of this tract of land also faces Garfield Street arid Avenue G. This property is kno,,,v as Abstract 701, Austin Survey, and Lot 6, Block 9. West Uide Flornl. heights Addition. Last year in pa,ssinE this property I saw a City grader operating on the property. I inquired of the operator ind learned that he had been instructed to ar' ade a roadway 11hrough next to -Eve-ris Pharmacy connectirE Garfield Street and Sel.mour Hoad. I informed him that it was private property and that I wais the owher. The grading was com--,leted without my permission or consent. I talked with '11r. Geo�r,e F,,irtrace, who -was City ManaEer at- that time, and he a-reed with me that the�' City had no rijht to grade the pro-,perty and cut a rcadway throuLh without the consent of the owners. 11Te offered to hcive the grader retlirn and cover up what they had --raded.
