The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wich�_ta Falls, Texas, met in called
session on the above date at 8:00 o'clock P. K. in the Council Room in the Memorial
Auditorium BuildlinL, with the following members present:

Mayor Harold Jones stated the purpose of this meeting was to hear any
and all complaints and compliments on the present bus routing and service.
The following petition, bearing numerous signatures, was presented to
the Council by J. L. Kaxwell, Jr.:

We, the undersiZned, hereby respectfully petition the City Council of the
City of Wici-dta Falls to modify the bus schedule with reference to traffic on
Duval and Victory Streets,, and �,,�ould represent to the Couricil the following
facts:
1. Duval is a narrow,, unpaved, and dusty street running North and South
between Victory and Speedway Streets. It is unsuited to heavy traffic.
2. Buses are now traveling Tiest on Speedway, turning North on Duval to
Victory., and thence goinE East on Victory. At times there are as many as
three buses on Victory and Duval Streets making this circuit.
3. It is only two blocks from Duval to Harrison Street which is a well
paved thoroughfare which could accomodate the traffic from Speedway to Victory.
4. There are three buses now Using Victory 3treet, and these buses constantly
drive in excess of the speed law. A large number of children reside in the 1`700,
1800, and 1900 block on Victory Street, ard Brook Street is very dangerous to
tra'�fic, the same being blinded by an apartment house and parked automobiles at
corner of Book and Victory.
$. The people residing in the vicinity of Victory and Duval Streets do not
need this volirne of bus traffic.
6. The use of DuvalS treet is creating a nuisance due to the dust and
vibration which is occasioned by the buses, and the use of Victory Street is
creating a hazard to the safety and welfare of the children residing thereon.

Attorney Elmer Parrish again reqiiested the return of the bus routing
to Indiana Street, while 11NIr. Pheifer again stressed the importance of retaining
the present bus routes on Scott Street.

A group of representatives of the Fairv� North Side, and
East Side were present to express dissatisfaction with ttieir present routinE
and tirae schedule.

Mr. Lundberg, local Manager of the Bus System, Was present to answer
all queSt4 ons and explain the merits of the present bus schedule and rcuting.

Alderman Berry Brown announced that the Council ,,ruld give all
complaints due consideration and lend all possible assistance towards securing
the best Dossible service for the entire City,

be heard, the following motion was had:

Motion seconded by Alder�nan Ray and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
