The Minutes of the regular meeting; held Hay 23, 1949, were read and
approved as read; likewise the Minutes of the called meeting held June 6, 1949,
were read and approved as read.
In response to a lett r previously writtcr, to E. P. 1,1illiams dba
L. P. Cabs ,, th reference to furnisl-sng it 3urance as directed by the Council,
Judga Peters, attorney for the said E. P. '^Williams, reported that insurance
would be furnished, but it would require some three or four days to perfect
the same.
A petition recently sent by Jack Ballard to the City Clerk by special
delivery mail was carried to the Council chanter for proper presentation, vrnere-
upon Jack Ballard requested that he be privileged to present the same in person,
and after a lend by and drawn.-cut explona,tion of the said petition, prcce>ded to
tear to pieces and comiri.t the same to a cuspidor, thus depriving the City of any
record whatsoever and the right to retain the petition for permanent files in the
office of ';,he City Cl-Urk.
The application, of the Faith Mission for a solicitor's permit was, by
common consent of the Co ncil, referred to H. B. 1`'aber3, Assistant City Mar_azor,
for complate investigation and report back to the Council at the next re;_ula.r
meetinL; to be held June 27, 15'49.
H. A. Prestage presented a petition bearing a large number of signatures
of residents of the North Side, protesting any contemplated changes in bus
service on the North Side bus. Various petitioners were heard by the Council,
whereupon the matter was referred to the City Mar,ager for study and recommendation.
yiIn. B. Gregg presented a Netiticn, bearing` approximately 50 signatures,
of residents of Sam Houston School District, ruluesting the installation of a
traffic light signal at the intersection of CrGnt Street and Avenue 0. The
matter was referred to the City klanag�:r or investigation: ana study.
Moved by Alderman Parish that 'Lhe 'Board of Aldermen approv;; and authorize
the execution of a contract by End between the City of Tgic:'rita Falls and. the Wichita
Falls Independent School District for'collect.ion of taxes, effective July 1, 1949,
and ending Jtne 30, 1950, upon the terms and conditions recited in the Contract as
read to the Council; and further to authorize and empower Mayor Harold Jones to
execute the said contract for and on behalf of the City of ;%Tichita Falls.

sign, between the curb and sidewalk, at their place of business located at
13th & Lamar Streets, for a period of one year; prcvi,_1_JnL the same is erectod
in accordance with the requirements of the City GEnvineer.

Moved by Alderman Ray that the Board of Aldermen authorize the issuance
of a p-:rmit to Hu:r_ble Oil & Refining Co. for the purpose of installing a sign
between the curb and sidewalk at a filling station located at 400 IN. Scott, for
a, period of one year; providing the same is installed in accordance with the re—
quirements of the City Engineer.

Moved by Alderman Parish that the Board of l;ldariien approve and
authorize the execution of a Lease Agree_!-:ent by and between tho City- of ,,richita
F=rllo and the Children13 Aid Society of Wes'. Te;:as, Inc. covering the Northwest
1201 of Lots I & J in the Francis Subdivision of Block 244, Original To-vmsite
of the City of li,icnita Fall:, Texas, except that portion of said lots which has
been heretofore set aside and designated as a SiEht Clearance area as shown by
reap attaci.ed to the said ?.ease Agreement, u_ron the terms and conditions recited in
the said Lease Agreement. as read to the Council; and further to authorize and
empower the City Manager or . ayor Harold. Jones to execute the same for and on
behalf of the City of 71icrrita Falls, Texas.

authorize the issuance of a building parrru.t to Lone Star Gas Company for the
construction of a buila`LnL to be located at 910 Lamar Street, in accordance
with the plans and specifications subrrd_tted to the City Engineer, and ap ;roved
by the said City Engineer as evidenced by his letter of approval addrestied to
City 1"anager Frank Wood under date of June 11, 1949, which io fi.led intha
office of the City Clerk.

application of F. L. Bilderback to sell u.innows at Labe Kickapoo, and to
authorize the City Kanager to execute a ccneessicn agreement -v�ith the said F. L.
Bilderback for a p •riod of on,; year, with a cancellet.icn clause for �C days,
for the sale of msnrows at Lake Kickapoo at a price not to exceed 35.,� per
dozen.
