The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas., met in called
session in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building at 8:00 o1clock
P. M. on the above date bers present:

Dr. Claude Beesley) Rector Episcopal Church, gave the Invocation.
A quorum being present., Mayor Harold Jones stated this meeting had
been called for the purpose of holding a second Public Hearing on Ordinance No.
1492.

The Public Hearing on Ordinance No. 1492 was held, at which time
both proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard, thereupon
the following motion was had:
Moved by Alderman Par-ish that the Public Hearing on Ordinance No.
1492 be closed.
Motion seawnded by Alderman Thomas and carried.
Moved ,by Alderman Ray that the Board of Aldermen authorize the is3ua.nce
of a permit to Kaufman Plumbing Company to erect a 'sign between the curb and the
sidewalk, at their place of business located at the comer of 4th & Burnett St.,
for a period of one year only., providing the same is installed under the direction
of the City Engineer.
Motion seconded by Alderman Parish -and carried.
Moved by Aldem.an Ray that the Board of Aldermen authorize payment to
Gordon W. Coker of Walter% Okla. the sum of $50.00, for alleged damages to his
Packard car by the Fire Department during the month of June, 1948., and to
direct the City Clerk to draw a warrant for the same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried.

ORDINANCE NO. 1492
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1350, PASSED AND
APPROVED ON SEPTEIIBER 81 A.D. 1942,, BEING AN ORDINANCE FIXING FARES TO BE CHARGED
FOR TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS 'YITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS.. TEXAS,, BY PERSONS,,
TRUSTEES, FIRMS, ASSOCIATIONS AND CORPORATIONS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF TRANS-
PORTING PASSENGERS FOR HIRE ON AND OVER DESIGNATED ROUTES WITHIN SAID CITY =
ITS SUBURBS AND TO USE THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND PUBLIC WAYS OF THE CITY FOR SUCH
PURPOSE; AID REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HER04ITH.

ORDINANCE NO. 1489
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LAND ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF WICHITk FALL3� TEXAS,, THE SAME LYING IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION FROM THE
PRESENT CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS., TEXAS,, ALL OF NNICH LANDS ARE
FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE AND DEMARING AN EMERGENCY.

as read on its third and final reading.

Moved by Alderman Ray that the contract entered into by and between
the City of Wichita Falls, Lessor, and Hubert Stringer, Lessee, under date of
-.APril 1., 1949,, for grazing land located at Lake Kickapoo situated in Archer
County, Texas, be amended so as to eliminate that portion of Paragraph 6, which
reads as follows: "Lessee agrees to pasture on said land only steers and/or
unbred heifers and/or cows,11 and that the same be and is hereby amended so as
to permit the lessee to pasture unbred keifers and/or cowspirisofar as it covers :and
pert2ins to all that portion of lands lying south of the Reservoir,
