Wichita Falls., Texas
April 22., 1919
Honorable Harold Jones
City National Bank Building
Texas
Vlicl-J.ta Falls,
My dear 11r. Iayor:
I think it would be in order to mke a protest against the con-
,tineous loud ballyhoo coming from 'Uhe street. I have numerous complaints
from the tenants in this building., and think I should pass it on to you!
Every one is for the T3cys C-lub., and call- other civic organizat-i.ons.,
but feel this is a poor meditva of advertising, and really becomes a
nuisance.
May I suggest: that this just be carried on during the noon hour.
I am, Most Sincerely
/s. W. Leroy Daniel,
W. Leroy Daniel, Manager I'lichita Natl Bank Bldg.

Ihe protest was ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk while

April 25., 1949
To the City Council
Wichita Falls, Texas
Sirs:
Due to the heavy traffic., and especially during the baseball season,
Park Street, being used as a "short cut" has become a thoroughfare.
From the end of the 300 block which is paved, to the ball park is
very dustv when travel is normal. 'But now it is stifling to the extent that
V
it Is very near unbearable. To kee a house clean is next to impossible.
We. the undersigied. beg of you to oil that section of the street
so that we may be more comfortable.
Thanks for your patience and kind consideration.
Isl L. 0. Youn,--,, Louis Garcia, and others
The above and foregoing petition was read to the Cowicil, whereupon
the 'Board of Aldermen deemed it advisable to contact the property owners to
ascertain if they would pay the cost of oiling that portion of Park Street,
and if so, the City will do the street .jork without cost., providing the pro-
perty owners pay for the oil.
